1.) Iran says “yes” to drugs — The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps has involved itself in counterfeiting and drug trafficking, reports Reza Kahlili for TheDC:
“A report from the Green Experts of Iran, an opposition group with sources inside the Islamic republic, has provided details of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps’ connections to drug trafficking, money laundering and counterfeiting. The report confirms an interconnected web of criminal enterprises, run by the Guards and often facilitated by Iranian diplomatic consulates, intended to fund the Iranian military’s worldwide terror operation.”
Considering the incompetence of some of the attempted attacks by Iranian agents abroad in recent weeks, it was money not so well spent — at least for them.
2.) First grader auditions for Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps — A Chicago-area first grader has some explaining to do after he was caught handing out fake $100 bills. Adam Jablonowski reports for TheDC:
“The school confiscated six fake bills with various serial numbers and notified the U.S. Secret Service. The boy said he got the funny money from his grandmother, school officials told the newspaper.”
Perhaps his grandmother was Kim Jung-il, another notorious counterfeiter. And yes, Kim Jung-Il was the mother of North Korea. And the father. He was everything.
Anyway, in more serious news, Hulk Hogan has a sex tape.
3.) Occupy pressure tactics — TheDC recently reported that the SEIU has been secretly infiltrating the Occupy movement to use it for its own purposes. Now Richard Pollock reports for TheDC on some of their tactics:
“During the past year, politically aggressive front groups founded by the Service Employee International Union (SEIU) have been partnering with regional ‘Occupy’ groups to pressure businesses and politicians, The Daily Caller has learned. The organizations — including This Is Our DC; Good Jobs, Great Houston; Good Jobs, Better Baltimore; Detroit’s Good Jobs Now; Fight for Philly; One Pittsburgh; Good Jobs LA; and Minnesotans for a Fair Economy — employ ‘flash demonstrations’ and other tactics to deluge their political targets with protesters, sometimes numbering in the hundreds.”
It turns out that “flash demonstrations” may not be as outrageous as it sounds.
4.) The Democratic National Convention may not be so gay — As in happy. TheDC’s Neil Munro reports on trouble in liberal land:
“President Barack Obama’s campaign manager on Wednesday backed away from calls for the Democratic convention platform to endorse marriage licenses for same-sex couples. ‘There is a process to go through this discussion,’ said campaign manager Jim Messina. By the end of the September convention, he said, ‘we will have a platform,’ but did not say whether it should include a marriage stance. Instead, Messina slammed opponents of gay marriage.”
5.) Poll of the day: Romney leads in NY — Siena poll of New York Republican presidential primary: Mitt Romney 38%, Rick Santorum 23%, Newt Gingrich 13%, Ron Paul 11%. The New York primary takes place April 24.
