Actress Eva Longoria, an Obama campaign co-chair, said that despite winning the Puerto Rico GOP primary, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is “on the wrong side of every issue” related to the Latino community.

After his win in Puerto Rico on Sunday, Romney, whose father was born in Mexico, said Hispanics would vote Republican in the next election. Longoria responded to Romney’s prediction. (RELATED: Full coverage of the Romney campaign)

“He makes a huge generalization because he won the primary so Republican voters, Puerto Ricans voters, Republicans who live in Puerto Rico voted for him is a huge generalization that he’s going to get the Latino vote,” she said on MSNBC Monday.

“Sixty-three percent of Latinos in America are Mexican American, there’s Cuban Americans, there’s Central Americans,” Longoria continued. “Out of all of the candidates, Mitt Romney’s probably the one on the wrong side of every issue pertaining to Latinos, education, the economy, health care access; he’s calling the anti-immigration law from Arizona a model law for the rest of the county, he’s campaigning with the author of it … that is polarizing to Latinos.”

The “Desperate Housewives” star said Romney’s policy positions are “dangerous” for Latinos. “He wants to veto the DREAM Act if he was in office, that is dangerous for our community and Obama for me is the only one that understands that the success and the future of America is intricately tied to the success of the Hispanic community,” she said.
