As intended, the Sandra Fluke/Rush Limbaugh dustup obscured the underlying issue: The Obama administration is trampling the religious liberty of Catholics by forcing them to pay for things they don’t believe in.
And Catholics aren’t keeping quiet about it. PJ Tatler:
There was a large political protest in San Francisco a couple days ago. In fact, it was one of the largest ones this year and far out-drew any OccupySF protests since the earliest days of that movement.
And yet, the protest was almost completely ignored by the mainstream media.
Why?
Because it was organized by Catholic groups strongly opposing President Obama and his contraception mandate for religious organizations.
You can find out much more about the rally, including lots of pics, at the Fund 47 blog. Presumably, all the raping, rioting, public defecation, and other attendant signs of principled protest happened off-camera.
I remember when religious liberty was considered a good thing. Whatever happened to that whole Ground Zero Mosque deal, anyway?

An Occupy protester was hospitalized after he was stabbed in a fight in downtown San Francisco near the Federal Reserve Bank, police and activists with the group said today.
The protester was stabbed in the chest about 10:40 p.m. Sunday on the 100 block of Market Street while arguing with another man about the whereabouts of a camera, said police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza…
The man who stabbed him arrived at the camp only a day or two before the incident and was not a familiar face, said protester Debra Lujan.
“He was not an Occupier,” she said.
Of course not. None of the crimes in and around Occupier gatherings have anything to do with the Occupy movement itself. They’re all just unfortunate coincidences. Dozens and dozens of unfortunate coincidences.
