Recently fired Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino won’t appeal the decision to terminate his contract with cause, his attorneys have said in a note to the Razorbacks’ athletic director.
According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Russ Campbell and Patrick Strong of Birmingham, Ala., sent the message Thursday night to Jeff Long shortly before midnight.
“Jeff, consistent with Coach Petrino’s previous statement, he accepts responsibility for the events that led to the University’s decision to terminate his employment,” the statement said, according to the newspaper. “Although extremely disappointed, he respects the University’s decision and will not avail himself of the University’s administrative appeal process.”
