Jose Canseco, the former Texas Rangers player, author and unexpected Twitter philosopher, has vanished from the social media site, leaving hundreds of thousands of followers behind.

Update: Mercifully, Canseco’s Twitter feed was restored a few hours after vanishing.

“Some aliens deleted my acc[ount],” Canseco tweeted following his social media rebirth. “I am back ready to rock your world hotter than ever.”

Canseco was an MLB outfielder and designated hitter. He played for the Oakland A’s, Texas Rangers and briefly for several other teams in the league. He admitted to using performance enhancing drugs and wrote about it in his tell-all, “Juiced: Wild Times, Rampant ‘Roids, Smash Hits & How Baseball Got Big.”

Although he had been out of a job for a while, Canseco’s tweets have been little gems of nonsensical humor, ranging from rants and advice to pleas for a job. He often engages with many of his Twitter followers, and he has a devoted following. Tuesday afternoon, the account abruptly vanished.

Here are some of Canseco’s greatest tweets:

  •  “Only a small amount of the population can see beyond the fascade or smoke screen.can you ?”
  • “I am a part of every single one of you .everyone has a warrior inside that wants to come out .warriors come out and playea”
  • “Good morning everyone don’t forget that I Complete You”
  • “a baseball is the smell of youth and our fathers”
  • “How can people love and hate you at the same time”
  • “Titanic 100 years wOw. Global warming couldve saved titanic. Sad to say”

It’s good to have you back on Twitter, Jose. You complete us.
