Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus has effectively endorsed likely GOP nominee Gov. Mitt Romney, and has promised his support.

“It is an endorsement, plus resources, energy, communication — everything the [Democratic national Committee] is doing for [President Barack] Obama, we’re doing times ten for Mitt Romney,” he told reporters on Wednesday.

The RNC will help register voters, boost absentee voting and ensure those votes get into the ballot boxes, and will boost outreach to Latinos and college students, he said.

On April 26, the RNC will also unveil an innovative Facebook-based tool intended to help voters reach out to likely supporters, Priebus said. The system is one element of what the RNC calls a “Social Victory Center.”

The RNC will also help with fund-raising. “We want to raise more money than ever before,” he said.

“It is a complete merger,” he said. “The RNC putting all of its resources behind Mitt Romney to be the next president of the United States.”
