Obama only champions clean coal while campaigning, says group [VIDEO]

President Barack Obama went from ignoring clean coal to suddenly recalling his campaign promise to champion it, says a new web video.

That video, produced by the coal-energy advocate America’s Power, plays back a reel of Obama’s commitments to clean coal during his 2008 campaign.

“Clean coal technology is something that could make America energy independent,” Obama declared back then.

The president’s pre-election allegiance to coal transformed into near silence — until the past few days.

Now that Obama is back on the campaign trail for his re-election bid, the clean coal commitment on his platform suddenly — and quietly — re-emerged on his website early this week.

America’s Power says that 1.5 million Americans work under the umbrella of the coal industry.
