A Chinese Security Ministry official who is believed to have spied for the U.S. has been apprehended by Chinese authorities.
The man, the private secretary of the security ministry’s vice-minister, “fell into a pretty woman trap,” the BBC reports.
The CIA successfully photographed the Chinese man with the so-called pretty woman and proceeded to blackmail him into handing over classified information.
“The destruction has been massive,” a Reuters source said. “This is the most damaging intelligence breach in decades for the Chinese.”
