Let’s celebrate Flag Day with hot American women [SLIDESHOW]

On June 14, 1777 during the Second Constitutional Congress in Philadelphia, Penn., the stars and stripes were adopted as our nation’s official flag.

Two-hundred and thirty-five years later, the American flag now has 50 stars instead of 13, and has become synonymous with freedom, opportunity and all-around awesomeness. (See also: Top 10: Hot girls in American flag bikinis [SLIDESHOW])

But enough with the history lesson: Erect your flag at full-mast, and check out these ladies wearing, holding and/or posing next to American flags, as we know that’s what you really came here for.

  • No pants? No problem.
  • If this isn't all-American, we're not sure what is.
  • Yes, that star-spangled does yet wave o'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
  • Is this what Betsy Ross had in mind when she supposedly designed the American flag? Probably not. Do we care? Nope.
  • This is how we will always remember Jessica Simpson: ample and patriotic.
  • She is more than welcome at any and all summer barbeques.
  • These stars and stripes are big and bright.
  • Julianne Hough...more like Julianne Hot -- right?!
  • American flag T-shirts should be considered an appropriate form of dress for any occasion.
  • Ke$ha's only redeeming quality is that she appears to be proud of the stars and stripes.
  • So the flag wasn't meant to be ridden, but we can give her a pass.
  • Would you rather salute to the image in the foreground or the background?
  • Other uses for the American flag include butt floss, if you are so inclined.
  • American flag bikini? More than OK. New York Yankees baseball cap? NOT OK.
  • "Old Glory" never looked so young and glorious.
  • Right and Left have us singing the "Star-Spangled Banner."
  • An American flag towel is both practical and patriotic.
  • Halle Berry never ceases to amaze, especially in an American flag dress.
  • This blonde is a lean, mean American machine.
  • That flag is mean't to be flying in the air, young lady. We suggest you uncover yourself and fly it high.
