Suspended Politico reporter says he’s ‘done’

After being suspended for making offensive comments about Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, Politico reporter Joseph Williams says he’s out.

“I’m done @ politico. Dtails to come,” Williams tweeted Friday afternoon.

Williams was suspended Thursday for suggesting during an appearance on MSNBC that Romney was most comfortable around white people.

Williams attributed Romney’s supposed robot-like qualitites to discomfort around non-whites. (SEE ALSO: Politico’s shrinking pains – nine takeaways)

“That’s one of the reasons why he seems so stiff and awkward in town hall settings, why he can’t relate to people other than that,” Williams said, “but when he comes on ‘Fox & Friends,’ they’re like him. They’re white folks who are very much relaxed in their own company.”
