1.) The Obama economy rocks! — If by (rocks) you mean the economy is being dashed on the rocks. TheDC News Foundation’s Betsi Fores reports:

“The Congressional Budget Office estimates the U.S. will report nearly a trillion dollar deficit for the first nine months of fiscal year 2012. In its ‘monthly budget review,’ the CBO reports that the Treasury Department has accrued a $905 billion deficit throughout the first three quarters of the fiscal year, which began on Oct. 1, 2011. The deficit was $66 billion less than the $971 billion deficit incurred over the same period of fiscal 2011.”

YEA! Things are going soooooo swimmingly!

2.) A tax for me but not for thee — To the Supreme Court, the health care law may be a tax. But Democrats in Congress, they aren’t so sure . TheDC’s Nicholas “Hot Mic” Ballasy reports:

“Democratic leaders in Congress who praised the Supreme Court for upholding the health care law — by ruling that the individual mandate is constitutional as a tax — refused to call the mandate a tax when questioned by The Daily Caller. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, who was Speaker of the House when Congress passed the health care law in 2010, told TheDC that asking whether or not the mandate was a tax is ‘Washington talk.'”

Yes. It’s just whatever we want it to be, say Democrats. Whatever is politically convenient.

3.) Sheila Jackson Lee, are you kidding me? — One of the biggest bullies in Congress is sponsoring an anti-bullying bill. Seriously. TheDC’s Caroline May reports:

“The congresswoman known for giving her staffers profanity-laced nicknames, throwing temper tantrums and, at times, throwing objects, has introduced anti-bullying legislation. In March 2011, The Daily Caller ran an expose of Texas Democratic Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee’s treatment of her staff, complete with tears, shouting, waiting, cursing and quitting (Jackson Lee has one of the highest turnovers on Capitol Hill). ‘You stupid mother-effer was like a constant,’ one former staffer told TheDC. ‘Like, all the time. But the interesting thing is she would really project that behavior more towards her African-American staffers. She would have other ethnic groups in the office, like interns or whatnot. But it was really her African-American staffers who she felt comfortable enough to really curse out. … This is something we always talked about. We chalked it up to her just feeling more comfortable acting out her aggression toward a certain group of people versus others.”

You can’t make this stuff up.

4.) Andy Cuomo should be president, says his father — What an endorsement. TheDC’s Will Rahn reports:

“Hey, America: Former New York Gov. Mario Cuomo wants to set you up with his son. The erstwhile liberal icon has begun touting his eldest child, current New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, for higher office, The New York Times reports. Mario told the Times that, given his son’s popularity in the Empire State, he could someday ‘have an opportunity to serve… the people of the United States.'”

5.) Poll of the Day: Despite Supreme Court ruling, Americans still favor health care law repeal — Rasmussen asks likely voters whether they favor repeal of Obamacare: 53% say they favor repeal, 41% said they are opposed to repealing the law.

6.) Tweet of Yesterday – Chris Moody: This Home Run Derby is making the best case for allowing steroids in baseball yet.
