Olympic gold medalist and U.S. women’s soccer team goalie Hope Solo has confirmed that “there’s a lot of sex going on” at the Olympics.

“With a once-in-a-lifetime experience, you want to build memories, whether it’s sexual, partying or on the field,” Solo told ESPN. “I’ve seen people having sex right out in the open. On the grass, between buildings, people are getting down and dirty.”

Swimmer Ryan Lochte backed up Solo and estimated “70 percent to 75 percent of Olympians” hook up.

Solo said she partied with comedian Vince Vaughn, appeared drunk on TODAY and “may have snuck a celebrity back to my room without anybody knowing, and snuck him back out,” all as a part of her routine at the Olympics.

Solo explained that sex happens because of how easy it is to meet people.

“Unlike at a bar, it’s not awkward to strike up a conversation because you have something in common,” Solo said. “It starts with, ‘What sport do you play?’ All of a sudden, you’re fist-bumping.”

One thing leads to another and it’s off to the races. As TheDC reported July 9, sex at the Olympics has become tradition — just like the lighting of the Olympic torch.
