Democratic strategist Dave “Mudcat” Saunders told The Daily Caller that he thinks President Barack Obama should continue his attacks on Bain Capital.

“Keep after Bain Capital,” he said during an interview in The Daily Caller’s Washington offices. “Keep after this greed, you know, that Mitt Romney has shown. You know, people all over America — and especially the middle class, you know, on down — they’ve experienced misfortune, and people have taken advantage of that misfortune. Mitt Romney was in the business of buying companies and taking advantage of somebody else’s misfortune. I don’t know why they don’t just say it like that.”

Saunders is famed for advising Southern Democrats like Virginia Sens. Jim Webb and Mark Warner, as well as disgraced former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards.

Speaking of his former client and friend’s fall from grace, Saunders said the whole situation with Edwards is “very, very sad.”

In a separate segment of the interview, Saunders talked about his client Wayne Powell’s run against House Majority Leader Eric Cantor in Virginia’s 7th District. In the clip, Saunders argued that Cantor is unpatriotic.
