“The Matrix” director Larry Wachowski now goes by the new name Lana Wachowski after undergoing a sex-change operation, making her the first well-known film director to publicly switch genders, the New York Post reports.
Wachowski was married until his divorce in 2002 after he was seen at a notorious Los Angeles S&M club and left his then-wife for another woman, the Examiner reports.
Last week at a promo in Los Angeles for Wachowski’s latest film, “Cloud Atlas,” the director introduced herself as “Lana” while donning a gray dress and fuchsia dreadlocks, according to the Post.
