1.) Golfers fight back! — The golf industry doesn’t like the jokes about President Obama spending too much time on the golf course. TheDC’s Matt Lewis reports:

“Golfers apparently have it so hard these days that a pro-golf lobby group called ‘WeAreGolf‘ is urging Senator Marco Rubio to refrain from discussing President Obama’s ‘passion for golf’ in the future. ‘As we enter the final stretch of campaign season,” the group writes,”we write to make a request we hope you will receive in the same spirit in which it is offered. Please reconsider your political strategy of criticizing President Obama’s passion for golf.’ (Emphasis theirs.) The concerns apparently stem from Rubio’s speech during the GOP convention in Tampa last month. ‘Our problem with President Obama isn’t that he’s a bad person,” Rubio said. “By all accounts, he too is a good husband and a good father and — thanks to lots of practice — a good golfer. Our problem is not that he’s a bad person. Our problem is that he’s a bad president.'”

2.) Media Matters for attacking — Media Matters doesn’t want to answer The Daily Caller’s queries. TheDC’s Matthew Boyle  reports:

“The Department of Justice continues to ignore requests for comment in response to the revelation its Office of Public Affairs director Tracy Schmaler has coordinated with left-wing advocacy group Media Matters for America, and is sending signals to at least one media organization that the cabinet agency doesn’t believe the collaboration has great significance. ‘We have reached out to the Justice Department for some comment on this,’ Fox News Channel anchor Jon Scott said on the air Tuesday morning. ‘Officially, they are not commenting about it — ‘no comment’ — although they are essentially saying, off the record, that it is not a big deal.'”

3.) Et tu, Linda? — Linda McMahon is distancing herself from Mitt Romney and his terrible campaign, reports TheDC’s Alexis Levinson:

“Connecticut Senate candidate Linda McMahon distanced herself from her party’s presidential nominee Tuesday, saying she completely disagrees with Mitt Romney’s leaked statement that 47 percent of Americans are ‘dependent on government’ and see themselves as ‘victims’ who are ‘entitled to food, to housing, to you name it.’ ‘Well I couldn’t disagree with Governor Romney more on that,’ McMahon told The Daily Caller in an interview.”

4.) Path to freedom — North Korea is the closest thing to hell on earth. But some Christians are trying to help those trapped in the Hermit Kingdom to escape out of it, reports TheDC’s Jamie Weinstein (ME!):

“A new underground railroad run significantly by Christians has formed to help North Koreans escape their oppressive regime, Hudson Institute senior fellow Melanie Kirkpatrick told The Daily Caller … ‘Two groups of people operate the new underground railroad,’ [Kirkpatrick] continued, ‘brokers, who are in it for the money, and humanitarian workers — especially Christians — who are in it to serve God. It is against Chinese law to assist North Koreans, and anyone who helps them is subject to arrest, prison, and, if he’s a foreigner, expulsion. In ‘Escape from North Korea,’ I profile several American Christians who help. They operate safe houses, they run orphanages, and they lead North Koreans out of China. These people are brave and incredibly inspiring.'”

5.) Poll of the Day: Ohio/Florida see Obama’s foreign policy differently –– Keep America Safe poll of Florida and Ohio: In Ohio, the poll showed that 51.8 percent view Obama’s polices on security and foreign policy as strong, while 44.9 percent view them as weak. In contrast, only 46.2 percent of Floridians said they view Obama’s positions on such issues as strong, while 49.1 percent said they view them as weak.
