Pushing. Shoving. Screaming. Grabbing. Biting. And finally, police sirens.

This is America just hours after a national day of thanksgiving.

Black Friday shoppers at a Wal-Mart in Moultrie, Ga., barged into the holiday season early Friday morning, fighting over cheap merchandise.

Cell-phone video posted around 1 a.m. Friday on the site shows desperate shoppers elbowing their way toward a much-coveted rack of items.

One woman, having claimed what is hers, attempts to leave the fray with a box clutched tight to her chest. A man tries to grab the box from her, and she bites his hand. The man then relents. (SLIDESHOW: 10 things better than going shopping on Black Friday)

Men and women in highlighter-colored vests, presumably Wal-Mart employees, are seen briefly, but appear to be helpless to calm the mob.
