The United States Congress is less popular than colonoscopies, but more popular than the Kardashians, according to a Public Policy Polling poll released Tuesday.

It’s well-known that Congress is deeply unpopular, but PPP decided to figure out just how loathed it really is by measuring it against some of the least-liked things on the planet.

Cockroaches are now more popular than legislative branch, with 45 percent saying they prefer the prehistoric bugs that can live for a week without their head versus 43 percent who say they like Congress more. Fifty-six percent said they had a higher opinion of root canals than Congress, while 67 percent said the same thing about head lice.

Other things more well-liked than Congress? NFL replacement refs, traffic jams, Brussel sprouts and used-car salesmen are all practically beloved in comparison. Nickelback, political pundits, carnies, Donald Trump, France and Genghis Kahn also proved to be more popular.

But, lest you begin to lose faith in humanity, Congress is still better liked than than a few things. Gonnorhea, for example, is far less popular, as are playground bullies, meth labs, communism, the ebola virus, John Edwards, Lindsay Lohan and telemarketers.

The survey is based on robo-calls to 830 American voters made between January 3 and January 6. The results have a margin of error of plus or minus 3.4 percentage points.
