Jon Hamm prefers free balling to wearing underwear, and it became a real big (pun very much intended) problem on the “Mad Men” set.
Hamm likes to go commando in his everyday life (do a simple Google image search for the paparazzi proof), but for the costumers of this season of the AMC series, his bulge was so prominent that he was forced to wear underwear while filming, the New York Daily News reports.
“This season takes place in the 1960s, where the pants are very tight and leave little to the imagination,” a “Mad Men” source to the Daily News. “Jon’s impressive anatomy is so distracting that they politely insisted on underwear.”
Photoshop whizzes apparently had to go back and digitally retouch promotional photos for earlier seasons to downsize the visibility of Hamm’s package.
“Imagine how distracting that would be on the side of a bus or building,” the source said. “When the promotional pictures came back the first few seasons, we had to work with them. Everyone was concerned about too much Christina Hendricks boob, but it’s Jon that has the most to show. It’s a good problem to have.”
Hamm’s rep doesn’t think the dong stories are very amusing, telling the Daily News that “[i]t is ridiculous and not really funny at all. I’d appreciate you taking the high road and not resorting to something childish like this that’s been blogged about 1,000 times.”
We hate to break it to you, rep of Jon Hamm, but there is no such thing as the high road when the topic is penises. They will always be funny.
