In part four of his exclusive interview with The Daily Caller, William Estrada — director of federal relations for the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) — gives an insight into the HSLDA and its mission to represent and campaign on behalf of homeschoolers.

“We’re the only national organization dedicated to defending homeschool freedom and parental rights. Homeschooling was illegal in most of the 50 states back in 1983. Today it is legal in all 50 states.”

“As a home school student, the first question we always got asked was ‘What about socialization? Do you know how to relate to your peers and to other people?’ and that has pretty much been debunked. You look at specifics. Beyoncé is a homeschool graduate. The 2011 Miss America, Teresa Scanlan, is a homeschooler… You’ve got Tim Tebow with the Florida Gators.”
