The Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday welcomed an illegal immigrant to testify before the committee’s second hearing on the “Gang of Eight” Senate bill.
Gaby Pacheco, a self-described “bicultural undocumented American,” announced shortly before the Capitol Hill hearing Monday that she would be among the 20 or so witnesses scheduled to testify.
I feel hope in my heart. The leaders of our nation asked me, a bicultural undocumented American, to testify in the senate. #IExist #wematter

Pacheco’s biography credits her with laying the groundwork for President Obama’s “deferred action” program, which he announced in 2012.
“As political director for the national youth group United We Dream, she spearheaded efforts that led President Obama to announce the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, one of the biggest changes in immigration since the 1986 Amnesty,” Pacheco’s biography reads.
Pacheco will testify during the third of four panels, according to the Judiciary Committee.
