A California man was charged with murder Thursday after a group of pit bulls he owned fatally attacked a woman in the Los Angeles suburb of Littlerock, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Pamela Davitt suffered nearly 200 puncture wounds in the attack, and was still under assault by one of the dogs when a sheriff’s deputy arrived.

The Los Angeles county district attorney’s office has received at least three complaints of attacks involving dogs owned by Alex Donald Jackson, 29.

Jackson was arrested Thursday and is scheduled to be arraigned Friday. He is being held on $1,500 bail.
