Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, known for her pant-suit proclivities, offered up an idea for a reality show Monday night at Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Awards in New York.
The idea? “Project Pantsuit,” of course.
“You know, I have been thinking, now that I have some more time on my hands, I am going to be pitching Andy [Cohen] and others on a new show for Bravo, to fill that gap that is so apparent to some of us,” the former first lady said according to a transcript posted by New York Magazine.
“All you really need is a small but passionate audience to be successful. We could call it ‘Project Pantsuit,’” she said in jest. “We have all kinds of ideas. So just call me after tonight, Andy.”
Clinton was on stage to present designer Oscar de la Renta with the CFDA’s Founders Award, who she recalled meeting in 1993 in a White House receiving line and feeling nervous when la Renta noticed her attire as one of his dresses. He asked her to “turn around” in it.
“But it started a great friendship that has meant the world to me and to my family as we have spent time together, laughed together and worked together over these past 20 years,” said the former First Lady.
According to USA Today, la Renta expressed his hope that Clinton will be “our next president” when receiving the award. The paper further noted that when Cohen returned to the stage, he said, “Project Pantsuit is totally a go!”
