Public support for President Obama has been declining recently, but with his nomination of scandal-plagued UN Ambassador Susan Rice to become National Security Advisor, the president has finally lost the support of “Malcolm In the Middle” star Frankie Muniz.

On Wednesday, the 27-year-old Muniz tweeted, “Really? Susan Rice? National Security Adviser? Really? Another #ObamaFail. Wake up people.”

Muniz joked on Twitter in 2011 that he was planning to run for political office in the future, using the hash tag #Muniz2016. But the star of “Agent Cody Banks” and “Big Fat Liar” appears to be serious in his disapprobation of the president’s choice of Rice, who promoted the now-discredited talking points blaming the September 11, 2012 Benghazi terrorist attack on an obscure trailer for an unknown internet movie.

Rice also was implicated in the Clinton administration’s non-response to the genocide in Rwanda and failure to protect the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.

But it was Muniz who became the target of many Twitter users’ wrath after his complaint. Though @BULLETTMedia called his tweet “trenchant,” others disparaged the former child star, who has been mostly out of the limelight in recent years.

“I think Frankie Muniz should be worried more about that shitstache/fauxhawk predator look he’s rocking,” opined @AllTheWayKay, while others disparaged the Emmy and Golden Globe nominee’s 2007 performance on an episode of “Criminal Minds.”

Meanwhile, @allanbrauer accused Muniz of racism.

Muniz shot back at his detractors’ insinuation that he is a Mitt Romney supporter, tweeting, “Did I say I supported anyone? Just saying our President is letting our country down.”

The child-star is currently the drummer for the Indie band Kingsfoil.
