10-year-old Anna Christine stunned viewers across the nation Wednesday night performing “The House of the Rising Sun,” on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.”
Christine entered the stage much like many young performers, but she quickly proved to be a star. After adjusting her microphone, she spread her fingers across the plastic keyboard, and proceeded to belt out the song as audience members began cheering immediately.
The talented 10-year-old from Henderson, Nevada, debuted a surprisingly rich, deep voice that left an expression of disbelief on the face of new judge Heidi Klum and veteran judge Howie Mandel.
“To see you deliver with what looked like 30 years worth of experience just blew my mind,” praised Mandel, before giving her the coveted “yes,” propelling her to the second round of the competition.
Echoing the sentiments of the panel, new judge Mel. B commended Christine, saying, “Your voice is very powerful for a 10-year-old, but do you know what’s even more special about your voice? You have depth and you can’t teach somebody depth in vocals.” As Christine beamed from the stage, Mel. B continued, “You really are something special.”
Christine left the building holding her mother’s hand, but will be back for the next round in Las Vegas.
