The trailer for the second movie in the “Hobbit” franchise, “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” dropped Tuesday.

Peter Jackson’s first try received disappointing reviews, but in the second installment he has brought in some new and old faces to woo audiences.

The new film continues to follow the quest of hobbit Bilbo Baggins and dwarf Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage), who travel with wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) to take back Erebor, the dwarf kingdom plundered and seized by the dragon Smaug.

Orlando Bloom as Legolas makes his first appearance in the “Hobbit” movies since Jackson’s “Lord of the Rings” trilogy.

Evangeline Lilly (Tauriel), Luke Evans (Bard the Bowman), and Mikael Persbrandt (skin-changing Beorn) all enter the cast.

Fans will have to wait a little longer to hear Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular dragon Smaug.

Check out the trailer here. The film hits theaters Dec. 13.
