Alabama defensive lineman Dee Liner sparked a Twitter frenzy this week for posting an Instagram photo of him and two friends flashing stacks of cash.

The recently signed freshman, sporting a black T-shirt in the picture, uploaded the link followed by the hashtag #StruggleOverWit.

The photo blew up on Twitter as many users burned the Crimson Tide commit.

Liner, who later deleted the photo, took to Twitter to defend himself against the haters.

“Don’t judge me when u have no clue what I have been through!!!” Liner tweeted.

Liner verbally committed to Auburn in 2011, though he switched over to Tigers’ rival Alabama in early 2013 after Auburn coach Gene Chizik was fired after going 0-8 in SEC play. The switch raised many fans’ eyebrows over Alabama’s recruiting strategies.

The aptly named Dee Liner, whose given name is Davion, explained the story behind his nickname in a February interview with SportsIllustrated.com.

“They’ve been calling me Dee since I was little,” Liner said. “They called me Little Dee. Now they call me Big Dee.”

Liner, who officially signed with the Crimson Tide in early February, was ranked by Rivals.com as the number two strongside defensive end in the country. There is no word yet as to whether “Big Dee” will get busted by the league or team officials for the money shot.
