We need your help. On Friday morning, the House Natural Resources Subcommittee on Fisheries, Wildlife, Oceans and Insular Affairs will hold a hearing on three bills important to our industry. Call the subcommittee members to state your support for expeditious movement of these important bills through committee so they can receive a vote on the House floor in the near future.

H. R. 2799 (Latta): This bipartisan bill would help ensure hunters’ and recreational shooters’ voices will be heard by permanently establishing the Wildlife and Hunting Heritage Conservation Council Advisory Committee, on which NSSF President Steve Sanetti serves, to advise the Departments of the Interior and Agriculture on wildlife and habitat conservation, hunting and recreational shooting. “Sportsmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enhancement (SHARE) Act.” The National Shooting Sports Foundation played an instrumental role in drafting this bill.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation also supports:

  • H.R. 2208 (Wittman), To extend the authorization of appropriations for allocation to carry out approved wetlands conservation projects under the North American Wetlands Conservation Act through fiscal year 2017. “North American Wetlands Conservation Extension Act of 2013.”
  • H.R. 2798 (Latta), To amend Public Law 106-206 to direct the Secretary of the Interior and the Secretary of Agriculture to require annual permits and assess annual fees for commercial filming activities on Federal land for film crews of 5 persons or fewer.

These bills are vital to protecting America’s sporting heritage. Call the members of the Subcommittee on Fisheries, Wildlife, Oceans and Insular Affairs and tell them you support H.R. 2799, H.R. 2208, and H.R. 2798.
