In an interview with The Daily Caller, John Guandolo of Operation Restored Warrior — a charity dedicated to helping rehabilitate combat veterans — urged people to thank returning veterans for their service, understand the wider reasons behind that thanks and to be mindful of their return to civilian life.
“We’ve lost the recognition that our Creator gave us inalienable rights, and these men and women are fighting and dying to defend those rights that are God given,” Guandolo said. “We should at least acknowledge that. That’s how you honor these men and women. That’s how you thank them.”
