Howard Stern said that if he accepted Jesse Ventura’s invitation to be his running mate in 2016, he’s not quite sure he would vote for their ticket.
The renowned conspiracy theorist, boa model and former governor of Minnesota is threatening to run for president in 2016, but only if radio legend Stern joins him as his running mate. He first floated the idea a year ago and has recently revived it.
On Howard Stern’s radio show Wednesday, Ventura pleaded with Stern to join him in a run to save America.
“I won’t do it if you don’t do it with me,” he said when asked by Stern if he was serious about the run. “I will be that serious.”
Ventura says he is enamored with the idea of using Stern’s show as a platform to win over voters because, he claims, the show would not be forced off the air since it is broadcast on satellite and not subject to FCC regulations.
“We can use this show to win the election. We would give the people of America the first opportunity to vote for a president who does not belong to a political party since George Washington,” Ventura said.
When Stern sidekick Robin Quivers noted that Stern likes Hillary Clinton, Stern said he isn’t committing to voting for the Stern-Ventura ticket if he accepts Ventura’s invitation.
“I don’t know that I would vote for myself and the governor,” Stern said, mocking Ventura’s White House quest. “I don’t know that yet. I have to hear what we all have to say and make a decision.”
“Let me tell you something,” Stern told Ventura, further lampooning the idea of a run. “The first thing I’m doing as vice president — with the president’s permission — is I’m going right up to Camp David. I’m going to learn how to play golf, and I’m going to have dinner parties.”
