  • Yes, David Niven counts. He did technically play Bond in Columbia Pictures' 1967 Bond spoof "Casino Royale." The film was generally trashed by critics, and the "Casino Royale" that most fans remember is the 2006 Daniel Craig reboot. Image: Wikimedia Commons
  • Only appearing in one Bond film (1969's "On Her Majesty's Secret Service"), Lazenby was originally supposed to do more Bond films, but he decided not to do so even before filming had finished on "Secret Service." Here he is pictured in Februry 2013. Photo: Getty Images
  • Roger Moore, at seven films, has starred in more Bond films than any other actor. His streak began in 1973 with "Live and Let Die" and ended in 1985 with "A View to a Kill."
  • Timothy Dalton only appeared in two Bond films, 1987's "The Living Daylights" and 1989's "License to Kill." He is pictured here on the left. Photo: Wikimedia Commons.
  • Pierce Brosnan played James Bond from 1995 to 2002 and appeared in four Bond films during that time. His last film, 2002's "Die Another Day," was the highest Bond film until "Casino Royale" surpassed it in 2006. Image: Getty Images
  • Daniel Craig, the latest actor to play James Bond, has appeared in three films so far: 2006s "Casino Royale," 2008s "Quantum of Solace" and 2012s "Skyfall." Craig is contractually obligated to star in at least two more Bond films. "Skyfall," with a global box office gross of $1.1 billion, is the highest-grossing Bond film to date. Image: Getty Images
