By now, we all know that Healthcare.gov is the biggest disaster since Cop Rock. And so far, it’s the only thing keeping people from realizing what a fiasco the actual “Affordable Care Act” really is.
But just how bad is it? According to Sharyl Attkisson, possibly the only actual reporter left at CBS News:
Early enrollment figures are contained in notes from twice-a-day “war room” meetings convened within the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services after the website failed on Oct. 1. They were turned over in response to a document request from the House Oversight Committee.
The website launched on a Tuesday. Publicly, the government said there were 4.7 million unique visits in the first 24 hours. But at a meeting Wednesday morning, the war room notes say “six enrollments have occurred so far.”
Six. Not 6,000. Not 600. Not even 60.
Six.
So, out of the 4,700,000 unique visits that first day, only 4,699,994 of them got seriously pissed off. Good thing this didn’t happen a year ago, right?
Yeah, but after that, enrollment skyrocketed!
By Wednesday afternoon, enrollments were up to “approximately 100.” By the end of Wednesday, the notes reflect “248 enrollments” nationwide.
The goal is to sign up 7 million people by March 1, 2014. They’re right on track.
At this point, the only thing worse for the Democrats than a broken Healthcare.gov is a fixed Healthcare.gov. Even if they were capable of getting their act together, it’s in their best interest to keep as many people as possible, as long as possible, from finding out how much more they’re going to pay and how much worse their coverage is going to be. It’s a lose/lose. Frying pan/fire.
So they’re doing what they always do when they screw everything up: Lie, lie, lie, and then top it off with some lying. And of course, they’re blaming the very people who’ve been trying for years to stop this debacle.
The Democrats own this. They wanted this, they did everything possible and told every lie possible to get it, and they went way over the top to demonize and alienate anybody who opposed them.
Now it’s theirs. Alllllll theirs.
The only thing the rest of us can do now is point and laugh at them as they “celebrate” their “victory.” If we can’t save America, we might as well enjoy the schadenfreude as these idiots try to cover their own asses.
