The flagship-model BlackBerry Z10 is pretty good, but if you want to stand out, you’ll need the Porsche P’9982 BlackBerry.
Priced on the scale of its namesake at more than $1,000, the Porsche P’9982 BlackBerry is functionally the same smartphone as the Z10, with addition of a Porsche-designed body.
The phone is a little lacking in Porsche-style horsepower with a 1.5GHz dial-core processor, 4.3-inch touchscreen, 1280 x 768 display resolution and about 10 hours of talk-time battery life. It comes pre-loaded with the BlackBerry 10.2 software, which supports 4G.
But the metal “Porsche” engraving at the top of the phone doesn’t betray style. Designed to be more durable and elegant-looking than the regular Z10, the body is outfitted in stainless steel construction with a genuine Italian leather back.
An upgrade to crocodile skin will reportedly also be available from Harrods department store in London, according to CET UK, though it’ll include a price increase as well.
If you’re taking your Porsche downtown to pick one up, we doubt that will matter.
