Ben and Ali Nunery married in 2009. The couple had just purchased their new home, so they decided that Ali’s sister Melanie would take their wedding photos at the empty house, The Today Show reports.
Sadly, two years later, Ali died after a battle with cancer. This December, Ben and his daughter Olivia moved out of the house, but did one bittersweet photo shoot before they left: They recreated Ben and Ali’s original wedding photo shoot, but used Olivia as a stand-in for his late wife.
Ben said, “Our lives will continue down a curvy and uncertain path, but Olivia and I will be able to look at these photos and know that for a short time there was a place where I was the luckiest man in the world, even if just for a little while.”
