Teacher at Christian school lied to cops about phone containing ‘revenge porn’ photos

In an utterly predictable plot twist that will surprise absolutely no one, the teacher at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy who resigned after raunchy nude photos of her showed up on a “revenge porn” website didn’t really lose her cellphone like she claimed she did.

Shockingly enough, it turns out she lied about that to investigators, reports local ABC affiliate WCPO.

The teacher is Jamie Climie.

Her bawdy photos first appeared online on Nov. 23. An unknown source sent the images to a website called thedirty.com, reported Dayton, Ohio ABC affiliate WKEF. The selfies went viral in the small but apparently dedicated subculture of revenge-porn websites.

On Nov. 24, Climie went to the local police and reported her cellphone — an iPhone 4S — missing.

Climie, who is married and has children, swore up and down that she had sent the taboo photos to just one person: her husband.

Police in the Cincinnati suburb of West Chester have now concluded that she wasn’t telling the truth.

Basic technology proved Climie’s undoing. Investigators undertook a forensic analysis involving some IP addresses and cellphone records. Consequently, says a police press release, they were able to establish that she had sent at least one photo to someone who wasn’t her husband.

The identity of that recipient either isn’t known or hasn’t been released.

In November, WCPO tracked down Climie’s husband. At the time, he said he had no idea how his wife’s seflies ended up online.

Police say Climie has since admitted that her phone wasn’t stolen.

Officials at Cincinnati Hills Christian initially placed Climie on leave when the scandal broke. About a week later, she resigned.

On Jan. 16, police charged Climie obstructing official business, a second-degree misdemeanor. She turned herself in a few days later. She was arraigned and released without bail.

The disgraced teacher has a court date on Feb. 4.

Cincinnati Hills Christian is a “multidenominational” academy enrolling about 1,450 students from prekindergarten through 12th grade, according to the school’s website. All students except high schoolers wear uniforms. Full-day kindergarten tuition is about $9,000 per year. For high school students, it’s about $13,600 annually.
