Vice President Joe Biden signed a Democratic fundraising email slamming the “Tea Party playbook” for “misleading facts” and “distortions.”

Biden sent a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) email Wednesday under his byline to support Democratic Florida congressional special election candidate Alex Sink 20 days ahead of her race against David Jolly, whom Biden disparaged as a “Tea Party Republican.”

“If Alex Sink wins this Florida special election against Washington lobbyist and Tea Party Republican David Jolly, it will be because of what you did in moments like this to help her close the spending gap,” Biden stated.

“Just last week alone, Alex’s opponent and the outside groups backing his campaign — funded by the likes of Karl Rove — significantly outspent Alex’s campaign. That could swing the election — but it doesn’t have to,” Biden said.

“I don’t have to tell you about what kind of nasty attacks are being aired against Alex. It’s straight out of the Tea Party playbook: misleading facts, distortions, and yes — a whole lot of malarkey,” Biden said.

“What matters is that Alex’s campaign has the capability to fight back against each and every attack. That’s why tonight’s deadline is so important,” Biden said, asking supporters for a $3 donation.
