Your feel-bad story of the day: Woman in labor robbed at gunpoint

Font Size:

It’s the coldest March in decades, if not in recorded history. Vladimir Putin is making fools of us all. Leo DiCaprio lost an Oscar because he didn’t starve himself to play an AIDS patient. And it’s been an entire week since Piers Morgan’s show got cancelled. Why should there be any good news today?

CBS Baltimore:

Annapolis Police arrest two people for an armed robbery of a pregnant woman in labor.

An eyewitness called police at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday after seeing a man and pregnant woman being held at gunpoint in the 1800-block of Copeland Street.

The woman was going into labor prior to the robbery and was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center.

When officers arrived on scene, one of the victims pointed to the suspects fleeing the neighborhood in a stolen vehicle…

During the chase the suspects threw a gun from the vehicle, which was recovered by officers. After a brief foot chase both the driver and the passenger were arrested.

Devery Kelley, 24, of Annapolis and Cornell Robinson, 44, of Washington, D.C. are being held at the Annapolis Police Department.

You know what this means, right? We need more gun control! Then, women who are about to give birth can make it to the hospital without being mugged. Get rid of all the guns, and then moms-to-be won’t need to defend themselves. Also, ambulances would be much more fuel-efficient if drawn by a team of unicorns.

No word on how the woman and her baby are doing. Even with a birthday like this, it could’ve been worse. At least Kermit Gosnell is locked up.
