Let’s just cut to the chase: Is there more than one Wendy Davis?

The Texas gubernatorial hopeful appears to have to stirred up quite a mystery this week as the blonde, pink sneaker wearing pol was reportedly spotted in two places at once.

NakedDC.com, a blog written by EM Zanotti that is not actually based in Washington, is reporting that Davis has apparently “crossed some sort of space-time barrier and splitting into two identical, yet strangely unattached versions” of herself.

Sure, Zanotti may be smoking something. Or else she’s on to some brilliantly bizarre phenomenon as she reported that Davis was spotted taking selfies at a brewery in San Antonio while also appearing at a historical fashion show filled with ladies with puffy white hair about an hour away in Kerrville. The fashion show invitation was displayed on Davis’ campaign website. According to the invitation, it would feature famous ladies in history, including Wendy Davis. The famed Bandera County Courier ran a bit on the show in their community events section. They said the show, “From High-Tops to Tennies,” was being sponsored by the Texas Democratic Women Hill Country Chapter.

The Courier describes the event, saying, “Hill Country women will dress in period fashions to portray historical women role models ranging from Abigail Adams, Susan B. Anthony, Margaret Sanger, Eleanor Roosevelt, Rosa Parks, Lady Bird Johnson and Ann Richards to today’s Democratic Party stars, Hillary Clinton, Leticia Van de Putte and gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis.”

Tickets set guests back $40. If they coughed up more, guests could play politicians for the day – $100 for governor, $50 for senator and $25 to be a representative.

Here we have possible photographic evidence of Davis possibly stretching herself into two places at once (or at least hiring a blonde to play her in the fashion show) while a power point presentation featured her pink sneakers. Zanotti, the blogger, says “word on the street” is that the blonde seen at the fashion show was a body double.

The Mirror sought comment from Davis campaign flack Zac Petkanas. He did not return an email by press time. I also requested comment from Kathleen Keller, one of the fashion show organizers.
