Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), a possible 2016 presidential contender, won’t spill the beans on whether he’s ever smoked weed.

Turns out he’s worried about being a bad role model.

“If you say that you did, then suddenly there are people out there saying, ‘Well, it’s not a big deal,’” Rubio told ABC White House Correspondent Jonathan Karl in an ABC News-Yahoo News series called Power Players. “On the other side of it is if you tell people that you didn’t, they won’t believe you.”

Rubio is staunchly opposed to the legalization of marijuana.

He explained that a conversation he had with a woman after he wrote American Son made him gun shy about admitting such personal details. In the book, he wrote about his 2.1 GPA. The woman told him that her son reasoned that he didn’t have to get good grades because Rubio didn’t do well in school, either. And look where he is.

So does this mean he won’t answer the briefs or boxers question too?
