Beauty Queen Once Faced Bullying For Weight

The story of Keli Kryfko’s journey from fat kid to pageant queen shows the upside of bullying.

Kryfko weighed in at 230 pounds by 8th grade, that’s 13 or 14 years old, Fox News reports. Not surprisingly, she faced what many children that are overweight face: bullying.

“I’ve never been asked to a school dance,” Kryfko said. “I would look at the cheerleaders and always want to be one.”

So Kryfko decided to shed the weight so she could quiet the bullies and be just as fabulous as those cheerleaders.

Ten years later, Kryfko weighs a cool 129. She is pursuing her dream of one day becoming Miss America and is currently Miss South Texas. Kryfko is also a motivational speaker and keeps a blog about health and fitness.

Whatever the reason, and no matter who you are, dropping pounds and getting in shape is always a good thing. You go, girl.
