Tracy Morgan has reportedly chosen to deal with partial paralysis rather than allow doctors to amputate his leg following a six-car crash Sunday.

MediaTakeOut.com reported Sunday the “30 Rock” actor’s leg was crushed and would likely be amputated, but in an update said he has opted against amputation. A nurse working in the hospital where Morgan is recovering told MediaTakeOut.com his leg is in “very bad condition” and partially paralyzed, but with physical therapy he could regain feeling.

He’s suffered a concussion, broken bones, internal bleeding and fractured ribs, but is stable and optimistic, and might fully recover, the source added. “However, nothing is for certain.”

The driver of the tractor-trailer involved in the six-vehicle crash appeared before court Monday morning on one count of felony death by auto and four counts of assault by auto, and reportedly had not slept for 24 hours prior to the crash.

Morgan is “adamant that it was an accident,” MediaTakeOut.com reports, and has “expressed concerns regarding the charges that were brought on the driver.”
