The 2014 Emmy Awards Nominations Are Here

Seth Meyers will host the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards on NBC August 25. The shows nominated were announced Thursday morning.

The Drama Series category is extra competitive this year because “True Detective,” starring the duo Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, was included there instead of as a miniseries, which was expected and would have provided less competition. The category now includes six hit shows, ranging from “Mad Men” to “House of Cards.” The American fantasy drama “Game of Thrones” is the year’s most nominated, closing in at 19 nominations. HBO continues its reign with almost double the nominations of any other network.
