George W. Bush accepted the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and got an icy baptism Wednesday (complete with the American flag waving in the background) after a little help from his wife Laura Bush.

“I’m simply going to write a check,” Bush said, and then Laura dumped a bucket of ice water over his head.

The former president had been nominated multiple times, including by his daughter, Today’s Jenna Bush Hager. Bush in turn nominated another president, Bill Clinton.
