In case you were under the impression that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were already married because they have been together for nine years or because they have six kids together between the ages five and 12, you were wrong.

The two married in a private ceremony in Chateau Miraval, France Saturday after a two-year engagement, The Associated Press reports.

However, the couple broke a vow by taking their vows. In 2006, the couple pledged to abstain from marriage in honor of gay couples. Jolie and Pitt said they would only wed once “everyone else in the country” could do it, too. Looks like they changed their minds or Pitt forgot he said that or they really don’t care.

This is not the first wedding for either. Pitt was married to Aniston for five years (before Jolie broke it up in 2005), and Jolie has been married twice; to Johnny Lee Miller in the 90s and Billy Bob Thornton in the early 2000s.
