The doctor who was performing an unauthorized biopsy on Joan Rivers when she quit breathing was allegedly Manhattan throat specialist Dr. Gwen Korovin, a well respected doctor who often operates on celebrities, TMZ reports.

Korovin, pictured above, was not even authorized to practice at Yorkville Endoscopy, the clinic Rivers visited for the routine procedure. She is also the doctor who reportedly took a selfie while in the operating room, before starting the biopsy on Rivers, who was under anesthesia.
