Princeton Professor SLAMS Obama For Utterly Failing Black Americans [VIDEO]

Campus Reform has obtained an apparently surreptitiously recorded video of a Princeton University professor bashing President Barack Obama for doing absolutely nothing in six years to improve the lives of ordinary black Americans.

Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor, an associate professor of African American studies at Princeton, made the remarks last week at Temple University while speaking to a group of socialists.

Obama’s agenda for black Americans has been “lukewarm” and “nonexistent,” Taylor said. In fact, she argued, the Aug. 9 police shooting death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo. “has done more to focus” national “discussion and attention on the experiences of racism and discrimination in the U.S. that the presidency of Obama has done in six years.”

Taylor charged that “the Obama administration has been marked by a complete reluctance to engage in any meaningful discussion about racial inequality.” The president fears addressing such issues, she asserted, because he is afraid of appearing to be “in the grip of the black community or as being beholden to black interests.”

The combination of this lack of a coherent agenda and this fear has amounted to disaster for black Americans.

“Instead of reaping some sort of benefit from the nation’s first African-American president, since 2008, African Americans have bore the brunt of the economic crisis in the United States in any number of ways,” Taylor said.

For example, Taylor said, black people work dead-end jobs in unacceptably large numbers, experience high unemployment and under-employment and have suffered higher per capita number of home foreclosures.

The professor also criticized the Obama administration and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder for theatrical forays into local proceedings concerning the shooting of Brown and, previously, the shooting of Trayvon Martin.

Additionally, she accused Al Sharpton and a multitude of elected black officials of being “more concerned with protecting their proximity to the first black president than actually challenging him .”

On her Facebook page, Taylor belongs to a number of groups including the Occupy Chicago Labor Committee, the OCCUPY the Department of Education, RedQueer, Labor for Palestine and Historical Materialism: Research in Critical Marxist Theory
