What are the chances? A House Speaker named Boehner was spotted at a Weiner restaurant in the Hamptons over the weekend.

And guess who, um, tipped everyone off?

It was failed New York mayoral hopeful and ex-Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.), who’s all hot on helping the media after appearing on CNN’s Reliable Sources Sunday as a media expert — yes, you read that right, MEDIA EXPERT.

room_(2)_1331678444“So @SpeakerBoehner had dinner Saturday at my brother’s restaurant @AlmondHamptons and was awesome. wouldn’t leave and nobody wanted him to. — Weiner tweeted this afternoon.

Politico‘s Jake Sherman, ever the muckraker, inquired, “@anthonyweiner were you there when he was?”

Weiner replied, “@JakeSherman babysitting 100 miles away, authorizing emergency Merlot deliveries. Seriously tho, Jason says the speaker was a hoot.”

A scary looking, although conceivably sexy looking, blonde named “Miss Bumptious” tweeted at Weiner, saying, “I think you’ve been hacked.” He replied, “@missbumptious just planting the seed where 1000 Boehner/Weiner headlines can grow. you. are. welcome.”

(Let’s hope the conversation stopped there.)

Turns out Bill and Hillary Clinton are also fans of Almond, the restaurant that is part-owned by Jason Weiner, Anthony’s younger bro.  The NYT has previously reported that when vacationing in the Hamptons they are regular samplers of the menu.

It’s only natural that there would be a Clinton-Weiner connection as Weiner is married to Huma Abedin, a longtime top aide to Hillary Clinton.
