Georgia Democratic Senate candidate Michelle Nunn will not denounce a racially-tinged flier sent by the Georgia Democratic party encouraging African-Americans to vote to “prevent another Ferguson.”

During an interview posted online by the website FetchYourNews, Nunn was twice asked by reporter Brian K. Pritchard whether she denounces the fliers, which are being used to get out the black vote for Democrats. Both times Nunn dodged the question.

“I think that we need to use Ferguson as a platform to have a conversation with our communities around what kind of society do we want, how do we ensure equal justice and equal treatment under the law,” Nunn said.

The flier, referencing the events in Ferguson where a white cop shot and killed a black man named Michael Brown, is provocative. Featuring a photo of two children holding “Don’t Shoot” signs, the flier says: “If you want to prevent another Ferguson in their future…vote. It’s up to you to make change happen.”

Nunn is running against Republican David Perdue in a highly-competitive race.
