Cows Bust Loose On LSU Campus, Explore Sorority Row [PHOTOS]

A half dozen cows got loose on the campus of Louisiana State University on Sunday night. At least one of them decided to spend the unexpected free time checking out Sorority Row.

Certainly, The Daily Caller is not above milking the incident for a story.

The grade-A prime cowfuffle began outside LSU’s Parker Coliseum, a 6,700-seat campus arena which mainly host livestock shows, rodeos and concerts.

The cows belonged to chapters of a 4-H Youth Development Organization and Future Farmers of America.

A group of students and adults corralled the cows in a pen outside the livestock venue, reports The Advocate, a Baton Rouge newspaper.

The students and adults then prepared to eat at a local rib joint — no doubt to celebrate winning a beef educational award at the Louisiana State Fair in Shreveport. However, the handlers soon got word that six of their prize cows had busted loose.

The bovine beasts spent close to an hour roaming around the agricultural buildings of the school. At least one cow made it over to Sorority Row.

Ultimately, though, the cows could run but they could not hide.

All six were eventually recovered and no one — cow or human — was injured.

Foul play is definitely suspected in the udder escape.

“We’re thinking that one Brahman might have had some help,” Dwayne Nunez, the livestock show manager of LSU’s AgCenter told The Advocate.

The 4-H and FFA members swore adamantly that they locked the pens when they left for dinner.

Students documented the cows’ 45 minutes of freedom on Twitter:
