The White House Thanksgiving Day menu features not one, not two, but six different types of pies — in addition to a bunch of other delicious-sounding fare.

A White House aide told the daily pool reporter that President Barack Obama and the first family will be “dining with family.” The unfortunate reporter chosen to spend Thanksgiving in the dank confines of the White House press area is David Perera of Politico.

The menu is as follows:

Dinner
Thyme Roasted Turkey
Honey-Baked Ham
Cornbread Stuffing
Oyster Stuffing
Braised Winter Greens
Macaroni and Cheese
Sweet Potato Gratin
Mashed Potatoes
Green Bean Casserole
Dinner Rolls

Dessert
Banana Cream Pie
Coconut Cream Pie
Pumpkin Pie
Apple Pie
Pecan Pie
Cherry Pie

Michelle Obama has made it her priority as first lady to push for and help enact restrictions on unhealthy foods in public school lunches as part of the Let’s Move campaign.

The Obamas spent part of Wednesday afternoon handing out bags of food with a charity called Bread for the City in Southeast Washington, D.C.

According the press pool, the president handed out plastic bags stuffed with sweet potatoes while wishing people “Happy Thanksgiving.”

Mrs. Obama distributed turnips while her mother Marion Robinson gave out fresh bread. Sasha Obama handed out mixed vegetables and Hershey kisses, and Malia Obama distributed canned cranberries and green beans.

Earlier Wednesday, President Obama pardoned the National Thanksgiving Turkey (and that turkey’s friend) and included a joke about his recent executive amnesty.

“I am here to announce what I’m sure will be the most talked-about executive action this month,” he said. “Today, I’m taking an action fully within my legal authority — the same kind of action taken by Democrats and Republican presidents before me — to spare the lives of two turkeys, Mac and Cheese, from a terrible and delicious fate.”
