He is accused of posting a string of threats to his personal Facebook page targeting police officers, specifically Wilson. The criminal complaint quoted one of the postings as saying: “We the oppressed people need to kill this white cop…”
Making interstate threats is punishable by up to five years in prison.
Of course, this arrest is racist because Abdul-Jabbar is black. And, of course, murder is justified when you’re really angry at somebody, even especially when that anger is based on things that never happened and you ignore anything that goes against your prejudices. All the facts and evidence are secondary, once you’ve made up your mind.
